NbA Muslim Woman Writer Joins Radio Talk Show as a New Cohost


Author Sahar Abdulaziz recently joined the Sistah Chat Radio – 90.3 WESS-FM team. Sistah Chat is a weekly talk show that serves as a venue for women of varied backgrounds to share their experiences. Abdulaziz has been a guest on the talk show before, and now she will join the program’s team of co-hosts.

Abdulaziz expressed her excitment about becoming a Sistah Chat co-host.  “Sistah Chat Radio 90.3 WESS-FM, is a unique program designed to offer listeners information on a wide variety of topics, but in a positive, proactive and inspiring manner. I am truly honored to have been asked to be one of the co-hosts of such a dynamic team of professionals,” the author told NbA Muslims.

Abdulaziz is the author of the critically acclaimed book The Broken Half as well as As One Door Closes, The Dino Flu, and But You LOOK Just Fine: Unmasking Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder and Seasonal Affective Disorder.

About Layla Abdullah-Poulos

Layla Abdullah-Poulos is an alumna of SUNY Empire State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies and Literature and is presently a student in the School for Graduate Studies. She expects to complete her studies and receive a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and Advance Certificates in Women and Gender Studies and American Studies by 2016. An aspiring academic, Abdullah-Poulos uses her knowledge not only to develop her own scholarship but also that of other SUNY Empire State College students. A proponent for the enrichment of higher education through diversity, she plans to continue her work as an educator who conveys to students an ethnically diverse historical awareness and furnish them with the skills necessary to acquire political proficiency and constructively affect societal change.
